If you are travelling to certain parts of Africa, Central and South America, you may require a Yellow Fever vaccination before entering the country.
Clyde North Medical Centre is able to provide Yellow Fever vaccinations and official vaccination certificates for international travel.
Yellow Fever is a viral infection spread by infected mosquitoes. It occurs mainly in tropical areas of Africa and South America.
Symptoms may include:
• Fever
• Headache
• Muscle pain
• Nausea and vomiting
• Fatigue
In severe cases, Yellow Fever can lead to serious illness affecting the liver, kidneys and other organs.
Vaccination is the most effective protection against Yellow Fever.
You may need the vaccine if you are:
• Travelling to countries where Yellow Fever occurs
• Entering a country that requires proof of vaccination
• Travelling through a transit country with Yellow Fever risk
Many countries require travellers to show an International Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card) at the border.
The Yellow Fever vaccine must be given at least 10 days before travel for the vaccination certificate to become valid.
For this reason, we recommend booking your appointment as soon as travel plans are confirmed.
A single Yellow Fever vaccination usually provides lifelong protection for most travellers.
Your International Vaccination Certificate will be issued at the appointment and remains valid for life in most circumstances.
Yellow Fever vaccinations are available at Clyde North Medical Centre with:
• Dr Ehab Mostokly
